We are the UK's leading debt charity. Every year, we help thousands of people just like you overcome their debt problems. Through our telephone debt helpline, and online Debt Remedy tool, we provide free and effective debt advice, and practical solutions, to help transform the lives of those struggling with the stress and worry of problem debt.
Three simple steps to take control of your finances
Regardless of whether you're looking for debt help online or by phone, our simple debt advice process will ensure we find the right solution for you. Here's how we do it:
- Learn more about you: Either use Debt Remedy, our anonymous online advice tool, or call our telephone debt helpline and speak to one of our expert advisors. We’ll gather details of your income, outgoings, unsecured debts and any assets you have.
- Create a budget: We’ll agree a sustainable budget tailored to your situation. This will allow us to see what’s left each month to go towards your unsecured debts.
- Take action: We’ll provide you with tailored information and clear advice on the best debt solution for you. And we'll help you set it up.
Whilst we can’t promise miracles or that it will be a walk in the park, we do promise that by working together we will get you to a future that’s brighter than you might have imagined.
How we're funded
Unlike fee-charging debt management companies, our service is funded by creditors, not paid for by clients. This is made possible by the charitable contributions that creditors make to us. As a result, our advice to those in need is genuinely free. It’s based on what’s best for them, not what’s profitable for us.
We’re a charity, so unlike many other debt advisors and debt management companies we're not driven by profits or shareholders. Instead, our debt advice is always free and our priority is always you.
