Will my credit file be affected by mortgage arrears?

Yes. Any late or missed payments towards your mortgage may be recorded on your credit file for 6 years

Can I get help with my mortgage payments?

If you’re out of work or retired you may get help with your housing costs. Use our free benefits checker to see if you’re entitled to any help with these costs.

What should I do if I can't afford my mortgage?

You need to speak to your lender and discuss this with them. There may also be a govenment scheme that could help you with the cost of your mortgage.
