How can I find out what type of tenancy agreement I've got?

You can find this out by looking at your tenancy agreement or you can contact your landlord and ask them directly.

Will my credit file be affected by rent arrears?

No, at the moment if you miss or make late payments to your rent this isn't recorded. But Experian (one of the credit reference agencies) are looking to change this, so from early 2013 this might change.

Can I get government help with my rent?

If you’re out of work, on a low income or retired you could get help with your rent. Use our free benefits checker to see if you’re entitled to any help with your rent.
