What is 7 Days, 7 Ways?
7 Days, 7 Ways is an innovative new email programme, designed for your customers, clients or patients who are struggling with money and would like a helping hand to get back on track.
The programme helps people to take small steps to deal with their finances which can have a huge impact not only on the way they approach their existing debt, but on their relationship with credit more widely.
7 Days, 7 Ways helps generate a positive 'can do' approach to finance, and will introduce your customer to free debt advice at a stage where we could prevent them from falling into problem debt.
By signing up to the programme, your customers will receive one email a day over the course of the week, each containing invaluable information and advice on money management, including understanding income and outgoings, priority debts and budgeting. The information is presented in an engaging multimedia format, with videos, graphics, and downloadable materials.
We currently see an 88% email open rate across the programme as a whole, with 46% of subscribers visiting our website for free debt advice.
The benefits of 7 Days, 7 Ways
The 7 Days, 7 Ways programme will:
- Encourage your customers to deal with their debts sooner rather than later
- Enable your customers to understand the underlying causes of their debt
- Help them put together their own statement of affairs (SOA), so by the time they call you they will have all the information to hand
- Foster a 'can do' approach to taking positive action, culminating with free debt advice through our online Debt Remedy tool or by getting in touch with you
- Promote budgeting and money-maximising skills to build your customers' confidence in their financial future
Early intervention is key
The experiences we hear from clients on a daily basis demonstrates the clear link between the rising cost of essentials such as energy, housing and childcare, and signs of financial difficulty. In fact, 40% of clients we advised in 2014 were in arrears on essential household bills - nearly double the figure in 2010.
If your customers are falling behind on essential bills or using credit to pay their priority bills then early intervention is crucial, and a holistic approach to their problem debt is needed. Promoting 7 Days, 7 Ways to customers who are struggling with money is a gentle way to let them know that this sort of help is available for free.
The begining of the debt collection cycle is the best time to introduce your customers to free debt advice, but we know from our own experience that many view advice as a last resort.
Over half of our clients waited over a year to get in touch with us, by which stage their debts had often spiralled out of control.
We want to face this challenge head on, which is why we've developed our new 7 Days, 7 Ways tool.
