Navigating through the cost of living crisis and beyond

Since September 2022, StepChange has commissioned YouGov to conduct research to better understand how the increased cost of living is affecting the wider UK population.

This report highlights findings from this research from September 2022 – January 2026. The polling asks a representative sample of UK adults about their household financial situations including information about debts, credit use, and household bills. Additional data on broader economic conditions is used as context for this polling data, to begin exploring the impact on UK adults’ personal finances.
