Dr Lindsey Appleyard is an economic geographer with interdisciplinary research interests around financial geographies, specialising in financial inclusion and inclusive economies. Lindsey’s recent research has focused on reducing financial vulnerability, responsible lending and borrowing, credit and financial capability. .

Lesley joined the StepChange Board in 2019 and was appointed Chair in May 2024. She has vast experience working in financial services across a distinguished career including as Chief Executive of The Pensions Regulator and Chief Operating Officer of the FCA.

Kimberley leverages her expertise in mental health and marketing to support communities in need across Yorkshire and beyond. She has spearheaded initiatives in collaboration with The Women's Organisation, Sky, NHS Leeds and was named in the 2019 Natwest Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise.
