Interview preparation checklist

Interviews and assessments are designed to let you show us your strengths in relation to the apprenticeship role. Whether it be your telephone interview or an assessment centre – you can help yourself by doing some preparation.

1. Do some research

This is your chance to demonstrate your passion for working with us! See the careers page on our website, read about our history and backstory and familiarise yourself with the work that we do. Google us!

2. Know our values

Ideally our values will reflect your own – it’s probably one of the reasons you want to work for us! We work with our values in mind every day so believing in them helps.

Can you tell us why our values relate well to yours? See our careers page.

3. Be ready to talk about your skills

This is the most direct way to show what a strong match you are with the apprenticeship programme. Can you communicate well and adapt easily to new situations and changes? If you don’t tell us, we won’t know.

4. Prepare examples

For competency-based interviews the more examples you prepare, the less chance there is of coming unstuck. Think of examples that show how capable you are. This type of interview is designed to help you focus your answer on what you HAVE done, rather than what you WOULD do (we can all claim to be a superhero, but can you tell us about a time you have actually used your cape to fly?!)
