Help your customers and reduce the harm caused by debt
Our partner organisations have a key role to play in helping customers engage earlier in the debt advice journey, and reduce the harm that problem debt causes. We strongly recommend you to use our tools and resources to encourage your customers to take action and get their finances back on track.
Our research suggests that many people put off getting debt advice for more than a year because of the shame and anxiety they feel, or because they simply don’t realise that help is available for people with problem debt. We estimate that a person’s debt can increase by an average of £2,300 in just six months if charges and interest are added, if they don't seek debt advice.
Use our debt help tools
We’ve developed two unique tools designed to engage people at different stages of the journey to debt advice. Our tools help them face up to, take steps to deal with, and manage their debts.
