Applying is simple

We’ve designed our application process to help you make an impact and show us what you’re really capable of. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Step 1: Apply now

    Choose the role that best suits your skills and interests and follow the instructions to submit your application. You'll be asked to complete an online application and answer questions about yourself to help us understand who you are and what you've already achieved.
  • Step 2: Telephone interview

    If your application impresses us we’ll be in touch to arrange a telephone interview where we can find out more about you and you career aspirations. We'll also give you the opportunity to ask us some questions too.
  • Step 3: Psychometric test

    We’ll invite you to take part in a 15 minute psychometric test which will give us more insight into how you think and the way you work. This will help us decide if you’ll be a good match for the role.
  • Step 4: Assessment centre

    We’ll ask you to join us for the day at our assessment centre. This will be a mixture of individual and group activities, and a 1-2-1 competency based interview. On the day it’s important to be yourself and let your personality shine so we have the best chance of really getting to know you. It’s also a great opportunity for you to meet us and decide if StepChange is the right place for you.
  • Step 5: Your offer

    If we decide that you’ve got what it takes to change your future as an apprentice here at StepChange, we’ll make you a formal offer.
  • Step 6: Onboarding

    There’s lots to take in before you start working here but we’ll make sure you have all the information you need before your big day. It’s all about getting to know us better, and giving yourself a valuable head start before you join us.
  • Step 7: Open Day

    We’ll organise a day for you to come and say hello before you start. You’ll be able to get a feel for our working environment, meet some of the people you’ll be working with, have a coffee with your team, and find out all the important stuff (like where the kitchen is!) before your first day.
