We submitted our response to the Work and Pensions Committee inquiry into the five-week wait today (17 April 2020).
The wait loads financially vulnerable people with debt: 93% of our clients affected say the wait caused hardship and financial difficulty.
We believe that turning Universal Credit advances into non-repayable grants will make the system fair and end the five-week wait.
