"Honestly this company is a godsend. After a big change in family circumstances, I found myself struggling and unable to service almost £30,000 of debt. I got in touch with StepChange VA who were extremely helpful and non-judgemental throughout the whole process of helping me set up an IVA. What seemed like an absolute nightmare process was made very simple and easy. They advised me on every possible option available to me and provided template letters to send to creditors to explain my situation. Once I had spoken to an advisor about everything and provided a few documents, it was largely over to them, and they took care of the rest. "I entered into a VA in 2021, having gotten myself into difficulties due to a high amount of debt, at first I didn’t want to admit to myself that I needed help, I kept calling StepChange and putting the phone down as I was scared what the next steps would be. Eventually I had the courage to speak with someone and discussed options, I entered into an IVA in May 2021, I found it tough as I wasn’t used to budgeting, I get anxiety and found the first 12 months tough, but StepChange were supportive, Emma who I dealt with was great. I am sure I wasn’t the easiest person to deal with. Due to paying it off early I am now debt free.
