Paying your debt management plan (DMP). How and when to pay your DMP.

It's easy to make your DMP payment, whether you prefer the simplicity of Direct Debits or setting up your own standing order we've got a method for you.

This page lists the easiest ways our DMP clients can pay us and when you need to make your payment by.

Direct Debit

This is the easiest and most convenient way to pay and it's the best way to make sure your DMP runs smoothly.

It’s completely free and gives you one less thing to worry about each month as we collect your payment straight from your bank account.

You can also choose whether we do this on the 1st or the 10th of each month.

If your situation ever changes and your payment goes up or goes down we’ll amend your Direct Debit to collect the new amount. You won’t need to contact your bank or make any changes; we’ll do it all for you.

If you haven’t got your Direct Debit up and running already you can do this quickly and easily. Just log in to our OnlineDMP area and you can set your Direct Debit up in a matter of minutes (as long as you've got your account details to hand). 

Paying by Direct Debit is the best way to make sure your DMP runs smoothly.

There are other ways you can pay your DMP, but we’d always recommend Direct Debit.

Standing order

If you choose to pay by standing order you’ll need to arrange for your bank to send us the payment before the 17th of each month. The payment needs to be made to the following account:

  • Sort code – 20 48 46
  • Account number – 70238163

You’ll need to include your client reference number with each payment you make. If you don’t do this the money won’t be added to your DMP and we won’t be able to pay your creditors. If we can’t pay your creditors they might contact you directly and ask for payments. 

If your payment changes you’ll need to contact your bank and make sure the standing order is changed.

Bank transfer

If you use online banking you can set up a regular transfer to send us your DMP payment each month. You'll just need to:

  • Use the account details from the standing order section above
  • Include your client reference number
  • Make sure your payment is sent before the 10th of each month 

You can also make your DMP payment over the counter at any Barclays branch using the account details from the standing order section. 


If you can't use any of the other methods we've talked about you can make your payment at the post office each month using a Transcash slip. You’ll be charged a fee for doing this and it means you’ll pay around £30 a year to make your DMP payments.

You'll need to make your Transcash payment on the 1st of the month as it can take a long time to reach us.

To make a payment using Transcash at the post office you’ll need to include the following details on each slip:

  • Transcash account number – 6017754
  • Your client reference number

If you don’t include these details every time you make a Transcash payment your payment won’t be applied to your DMP. This means we won’t be able to pay your creditors and you'll need to contact the Post Office to see if they can trace your payment. This means your creditors will start contacting you and asking for payments.  

exclamation mark Important things to remember...

  1. You need to make your payment before the 17th of each month. If you don’t we won’t have time to send it to your creditors.
  2. We send your payment to your creditors within 5 working days of receiving it from you.
  3. We pay most creditors by electronic transfer so the payment will normally be applied to your account with them the same day.
  4. Some creditors ask us to pay them by cheque. Because they have to processes these manually the payment won’t be applied to your account until a few days after we've sent it.
