Creditors and your DMP

During your DMP we know that things will change. Your debts may be passed to other companies and your balances will change. It’s important that you keep us up to date with these changes. You can do this quickly and easily online.

OnlineDMP lets you update the following in the My Debts section:

  • Details of your creditors. This includes letting us know if a debt is passed to someone else
  • Account numbers for each creditor
  • Balances of your debts

FAQs

If a balance is wrong on your statement, we may continue paying the creditor after the debt has been cleared. The money will be refunded but this can take some time. Or if a balance is too low, we would stop paying the debt before it is fully repaid. The creditor may take further action due the payments stopping.

To prevent this, please update your DMP balances regularly.

Your statement with us is based on the most recent information we hold but we can't guarantee this is accurate. If your creditors continue adding charges or interest, your actual debt may be higher than shown on your statement.

If you gave an estimated balance at the start of your DMP and this hasn't been updated, your statement is also likely to be wrong. We recommend you check with your creditors regularly and update your balances online if they differ from those on your statement.
