What is the Warm Home Discount scheme?
The Warm Home Discount is a government scheme in England, Wales and Scotland. It helps people with low income with their energy bills over the winter. You need to meet the government's criteria to get it.
People who meet the criteria will get a one-time £150 discount applied to their energy bill. The Warm Home Discount scheme runs between November 2025 and March 2026.
Who can get the Warm Home Discount?
The Warm Home Discount criteria is different between England and Wales and Scotland.
England and Wales
To get the Warm Home Discount, you must:
- Get the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit, or
- Be on a low income
Scotland
To get the Warm Home Discount, you must:
- Get the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit, or
- Be on a low income and meet your energy supplier's criteria for the scheme
The Warm Home Discount scheme is not available in Northern Ireland. Instead, you may be able to apply for the Affordable Warmth scheme.
