This latest report provides insight into the demographic and debt information of new clients who first received debt advice in August 2020. It also provides the latest insight surrounding our website traffic information.

Our key findings from August 2020:

  • We provided full debt advice to over 13,000 new clients in August 2020
  • We continued to advise significant proportions of groups who have been identified as most at risk of financial detriment due to the pandemic. These include women, younger age groups, and renters
  • Most new clients in August had been affected by life shocks. Experiencing unemployment, redundancy, a reduced income or the financial impacts of coronavirus were the most cited reason for debt among new telephone clients in August
  • Our latest website trends show a substantial increase in traffic to our ‘bailiff help and advice’ web page in August. This was the fourth most visited web page during that month. We saw a 652% rise in web traffic to our ‘bailiff help and advice’ web page between July and August
