This latest report provides insight into the demographic and debt information of new clients who first received debt advice in June 2026. It also includes the latest insights on our website traffic trends
Our key findings from June 2026:
- The number of clients completing full debt advice in June 2026 is 15,457 which is fifteen percentage points higher than June 2025 (13,447) and five percentage points higher than May 2025 (14,717).
- Nearly two in ten (18%) clients gave ‘lack of control over finances’ as their main reason for debt in June 2026, which is unchanged from June 2025 and May 2026.
- The most common unsecured debt type in June 2026 was credit card debt, held by three in four (73%) clients. This is unchanged from May 2026 but is six percentage points higher than June 2025 (67%).
- Over half (54%) of clients in June 2026 held personal loan debt, six percentage points higher than a year prior in June 2025 (48%).
- Average household bill arrears in June 2026 rose to £4,259, up £237 from May 2026 (£4,022).
- The number of clients in full-time employment was 46% in June 2026. This is one percentage point lower than May 2026 (47%), but three percentage points higher than June 2025 (43%).
