Through our free debt helpline we help people in financial difficulty by giving free and impartial debt advice. We are the UK’s leading debt help charity, helping 620,000 people every year.

You can get help online using our free online debt advice tool. Tell us about your finances, we work out your budget and you get a "personal action plan" with practical debt advice.

Or, if you wish to telephone us, our debt helpline (free from all landlines and mobiles) is open from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm on Saturday. You can get in touch with us by calling 0800 138 1111. (Calls may be monitored and recorded for quality and training purposes.)

How do I prepare for a debt advice call?

Gather up-to-date details about your finances, including your income, outgoings and debts. Have an idea about what you spend on:

  • Housing and utility bills, including council tax
  • Household services
  • Travel
  • Food and housekeeping
  • Living expenses

Additionally, collect information about your income (including benefits, pensions and tax credits), and details of your debts.

Can I contact you if I'm hearing or speech impaired?
