This latest report provides insight into the demographic and debt information of new clients who first received debt advice in May 2025. It also includes the latest insights on our website traffic trends.

Our key findings from May 2025:

  • In May 2025, the emergency funding webpage was the most viewed debt information page with 25,462 views, which is 8% higher than April 2025 (23,605)
  • ‘Unemployment or redundancy’ was cited by just under one in six (16%) clients as their main reason for debt in May 2025, which is two percentage points higher than May 2024 (14%)
  • Two thirds (67%) of clients had credit card debts in May 2025, which is the most common form of unsecured debt among clients
  • Around one in seven (15%) clients were living with family in May 2025, which is one percentage point and two percentage points higher than April 2025 and May 2024, respectively
  • The proportion of clients in full time employment in May 2025 is 43%, which is two percentage points higher than April 2025 (41%)
