StepChange Debt Charity appoints three new trustees

StepChange Debt Charity announced today that it had appointed three new members to its board of trustees. Andy Hill, Managing Director of Damartex UK Ltd, Kenny MacLeod, Chief Executive Officer of Scotwest Credit Union, and Chris Stern, Chairman of British Gas Insurance, will take up their positions on July 1st, 2016.
Sir Hector Sants, Chair of StepChange Debt Charity, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Andy, Kenny and Chris to the board of trustees. They bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience that will help guide the charity through the next stage of its development. I look forward to working with all three to help bring the charity’s vision of a society free from problem debt a little closer.”
Andy Hill
Andy Hill FCCA is currently the Managing Director of Damartex UK Ltd & Executive Chairman of Coopers of Stortford, having previously served as Managing Director of Redcats PLC, and Marketing Director at Empire Stores. He has also held roles with Next PLC, British Satellite Systems, Database Marketing Ltd (now Equifax), Kaleidoscope Ltd, Grattan PLC, and Lennons Group PLC.

Kenny MacLeod
Kenny MacLeod is the Chief Executive of Scotwest Credit Union. He has previously served as Group Finance Director at David Urquhart Travel, as well as also holding positions with Motherwell College, Scottish Pride, Lanarkshire Development Agency, and Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now PWC).
Kenny MacLeod said: “Credit unions share StepChange Debt Charity’s vision of creating a society which is free from problem debt and therefore I am looking forward to contributing an empathetic lender’s perspective to the ongoing work of the charity.”
Chris Stern
Chris Stern is the chairman of British Gas Insurance and Senior Director at British Gas. He previously served as Chief Executive of British Gas Insurance. He also serves as a Centrica Pension Trustee, as Director of Centrica Combined Investment Pension Fund, and as non-executive director of Centrica Energy Trading Ltd.
Chris Stern said: “I am delighted to join the board and look forward to supporting the organisation as it continues to help the many thousands of people struggling with debt and serious financial issues across the UK.”
