Cardiff debt counsellor picks up prestigious award

A debt advisor from Cardiff has won a national award in recognition of his work helping people who are struggling with debt.
Mark Norman, a senior debt advisor in StepChange Debt Charity’s Cardiff office, has won the Credit Today ‘Debt Counsellor of the Year’ for the outstanding help he gives to people with serious financial difficulties. His win was announced at an awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London last night (May 8, 2014). This marks the second year in a row in which one of the charity’s advisors has won the award.
Mark, who has worked for the UK’s leading debt charity for 13 years, gives his award-winning advice to hundreds of people every year who contact the charity looking for help in dealing with their debts.
StepChange Debt Charity has over 20 years’ experience of providing free, expert advice to people struggling with problem debt. Last year, the charity helped over 7,500 people from Wales with their debt problems. In conjunction with the Welsh Government the charity also operates the Housing Debt Helpline Wales, offering specialist support to people struggling with rent or mortgage debt.
