UK’s leading debt charity launches new brand
November 5, 2012
StepChange Debt Charity is the new name for the Consumer Credit Counselling Service. The charity, which has been providing free debt advice and solutions since 1993, has undergone a full rebrand which includes a new website and marketing campaign.
The charity has initiated the rebrand in response to a changing debt landscape. Changes include a large rise in the number of people seeking its help with multiple payday loans as well as a rise in overdraft debt. The aim of the rebrand is to reach everyone who is struggling with debt, whoever they are and wherever they are.
To achieve this, the charity will be raising its profile and working more closely with creditors and other organisations to extend the reach of its services and identify people’s debt problems earlier. The charity will also invest in its people, processes and systems so that, no matter how many people seek its help, it is able to offer the best and quickest possible resolution to their problems.
Commenting on the rebrand, Gordon Bell, chief executive of StepChange Debt Charity, said : “Not only will StepChange Debt Charity work to ensure that everyone who needs help with debt is aware of the free advice and solutions that we provide, we will speak up for all who are affected by problem debt, right across society. We will contribute to policy development and campaign for change wherever our knowledge and experience shows that it’s needed.
“And we will help the financially vulnerable to help themselves, by equipping them with the knowledge and skills that they need to manage their money and debt more effectively.”
